Purchasing a beat is an extremely important step towards a successful single, project, and overall career. You've unlocked the ability to legally monetize your streams, synchronizations, performances and so much more. You're on your way.
But before you can just jump into recouping from your investment, you'll have to ensure that those lanes are open.
To make that process a bit easier, I've gone ahead and outlined a few key steps you may want to take to reach that next level.
1. Become a pro member
Performance Rights Organizations (PROs) essentially collect revenue generated from public performances. Public performances range from an actual live performance to your song being played on the radio, on TV, in a store, or any other synchronization. Some of the most popular PROs are ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC to name a few. To be clear, you DO NOT need to register your works with a PRO to collect digital streaming revenue. But if you plan on utilizing every resource for exposure and having the ability to collect your money when the opportunity calls, it may still be a great idea to register. It is not free, but just like your beat purchase; it's a great investment for serious songwriters and artists.
I'm no expert, so I suggest doing some additional research on said PROs to decide whether or not registering is a good idea for you.

2. distribute your music
Distributing your music to streaming services and stores has become one of the easiest processes of independent artists and songwriters. There are so many distributing services out there such as CD Baby, TuneCore, Ditto, and the list goes on. Over the last couple of years, I've personally distributed my music through DistroKid. DistroKid makes sharing your music and dividing streaming royalties a seamless process. They'll release your music to the world's favorite streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, as well as make your music available for Instagram and TikTok users.
